1st day of night clinic. 3rd October 2011. Since we’ve to share the dental chair with 3rd year (no choice coz still we’r not able to enter new building dua to several reasons), after 4weeks of morning and evening session, we’ve to shift the session. So, from 6 hours clinic per day, it’s reduced by 3rd to only 2 hours (which i don’t like it since we have to finish our requirement in order to sit for promotional exam) form 8pm to 10pm.
Basically we’ll have usual morning class from 8am to 10pm and free from 10am to 5pm. We’ll resume later at 8pm till 10pm which is the real time before was 730pm (GDP starting from week1-now we’re in week 4) half of block 1 was gone already, yet many things left unfinished.
It’s a bit chaotic. With nursing station and SSD lacking of staff (they work overtime of course) to cover 4 batches (year 1 still not enter the clinic) 2 batches each session (am, evening and night session), yeah i guess to start with OS clinic on 1st day leave not so good impression. When i want to prescribe antibiotic and analgesic, i’ve to have almost quarter an hour to get the staff to check for medication (only 1 person cover nursing station for 1 and a half batch).
MOS case-planned & unplanned tied the lecturers to work hard. Oh...so busy night. I end up with supper at Taj when i didnt ride the motorbike (the weather lately like the rainy season) force me to hitchhike a friend’s car.
Then, a bit tazkirah before the session ended, points are:
1. It’s your responsibility to practise universal precaution and adhere to infection control protocol tightly as to prevent you and your colleague (also the staff) from contamination. Change the blue gown (clinical gown) once it’s contaminated either by blood (esp during OS) or saliva (esp during Perio scaling). Keep your hands up when you’re wearing glove and wash your hands everytime before and after putting the glove.
2 If not, you’ll be asked later during The Day of Judgement because you’ve spread and expose the staff to the disease unnecessarily when it can be prevented by practising the right infection control precaution.
We plan, but Allah’s plan are the best. So, just get ready with Plan B everytime we plan the thing. Allah knows the best.
As for today, after having my breakfast at 1030am after queue for 10minutes, i’ve decided to surf for research. But, i’m having headache that i cant even stand anymore. Maybe the food (nasi lemak with sambal kerang) is the stimulus to force me to stop the thing and just go back to get some sleep.
Owh, i’m free all day, so that i sleep excessively. Still the headache remains. Then, i’ve to bath (water helps to give serenity) and eat so that i can take my mafenamic acid (fyi i also got sodium diclofenac for my backache).
If i’ve headache, i also have to avoid drink cold drink such as ice-blended which i joyfully ignore this evening. I just can’t resist my appetite. I’ve lost almost 5kg in about 3years which i should maintain the min kg to keep my BMI just normal. My BMI is under the normal rate. Owh, i want to donate blood so that i can gain weight which i cant because my weight is not enough to keep under min requirement to donate.
How dissapointed! I wish one day, i’m able to donate blood.
How dissapointed! I wish one day, i’m able to donate blood.
Then, let’s call it a night. Eventhough only 2 hours per day, it’s more tiring than 6 hours per day. Really, i’m a morning person. Night just doesn’t suits me to work as it is designed to rest.
But, this is life. How colourful it is!
What a RAINBOW of life!
